Folder Gluer Operator Training
By observing the M/R process I can determine/see/learn how the operator moves through the machine and help the operator identify areas of wasted movement. Start getting them to think of it as a process, step 1, step 2, step 3.... By doing this they start to figure out ways to eliminate un-needed steps in the process and reduce the M/R time.
It is counter-productive if an operator rushes through a M/R and spends excessive time dialing in the blank to run consistently. My approach - A few more blanks and a little more time in the M/R to insure all tooling/folding is properly set is far more efficient.
By preparing some of the tooling ahead of time, the operator gets mentally prepared for the up coming M/R. This will aid in reducing M/R time.
Reinforce proper setting of front and back folding hooks, folding ploughs, folding rails and making adjustments for different board grades and or substrates.
Standardize M/R’s between operators. By getting everyone on the same page, you start to see less of the “shift change M/R “. - The incoming operator doesn’t like the setup and starts to change things even though the job has been running all day. This is a production killer.
Difficult blanks? I can help your team determine the best way to set up these jobs.
